Sandakan, Sepilok & Kinabatangan Wildlife Tour in Malaysia

This four-day trip links Sandakan, Sepilok and the Kinabatangan River area in eastern Sabah. It starts with an arrival transfer into the Sepilok rainforest area, where the program includes the orangutan rehabilitation centre, the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre and the Rainforest Discovery Centre. The journey then continues overland to Bilit on the Kinabatangan River for boat cruises and time in the forest. A guided jungle walk is included during the stay, along with more river time for wildlife spotting. The tour ends back in Sandakan after a city sightseeing stop. It is a small-group wildlife itinerary with road and boat transfers, planned meals and an English-speaking guide.     Sandakan

    Arrival in Sandakan and Sepilok

    Arrive at Sandakan airport and transfer to the Sepilok rainforest area. Visit the orangutan rehabilitation centre, the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre and the Rainforest Discovery Centre before settling in for the night.

    Bilit (Kinabatangan River)

    Sepilok to Bilit on the Kinabatangan River

    After breakfast, travel overland to Bilit for lunch. In the afternoon, take a river cruise along the Kinabatangan and watch for wildlife along the banks and in the surrounding forest.

    River cruises and jungle walk

    Start the day with a river cruise, then join a guided jungle walk through the forest. After lunch, go out on another cruise before dinner and an optional night walk.

    After breakfast, travel back to Sandakan. Enjoy a city sightseeing stop before transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
