Spend four days based in Salta with two full-day excursions into northern Argentina’s best-known landscapes and historic towns. The program combines a city tour of Salta, a visit to Cafayate with stops at two wineries, and a drive through the Quebrada de Humahuaca with time in Purmamarca, Maimará, Tilcara, Uquía and Humahuaca. The itinerary includes airport transfers in Salta, three nights in the city, breakfast each morning and guided excursions in English and Spanish. It is a practical way to cover the region’s main highlights without changing hotels. Important notes: High-altitude sections are part of the trip, so it helps to take things slowly and drink plenty of water. The order of activities may change for operational, weather or logistical reasons. The package is non-refundable and not wheelchair accessible. Children must travel with an adult.

Arrival in Salta and city tour
Arrive in Salta by mid-afternoon, meet your transfer and settle into your hotel. In the afternoon, set out on a guided tour of the city’s historic centre, with time at Plaza 9 de Julio, Salta Cathedral and San Francisco Church. The day also includes Cerro San Bernardo for wide views over the city before returning to your hotel.- - 2
Cafayate
Cafayate wineries and valley drive
Travel from Salta into the Calchaquí Valleys on a full-day excursion. On arrival in Cafayate, visit two local wineries and learn about the region’s wine culture during a standard tasting. Time in town can include a stop at the Wine Museum, which is closed on Mondays, before returning to Salta for the night.Breakfast - 3
Humahuaca
Quebrada de Humahuaca day trip
Head north through Jujuy Province on a full-day drive through the Quebrada de Humahuaca. The route includes Purmamarca, Maimará, Tilcara, Uquía and Humahuaca, with stops for the hill scenery, local villages and the historic chapel in Uquía.
