Arrival in Hulhumale
Arrive at Male International Airport and transfer by vehicle to your guesthouse in Hulhumale. Settle in after the flight, then spend the rest of the day near the public beach, cafés and restaurants. If you arrive before 5:00 pm, there is an optional visit with your guide to a beachside café for coffee and a first look at local island life. - 2
Mathiveri Island
Transfer to Mathiveri and first snorkel
Travel by public speedboat to Mathiveri in North Ari Atoll. After lunch, head out for your first snorkel near the island’s reefs. Your guide gives a safety briefing, points out marine life in the water and helps less confident snorkelers. In the afternoon, explore the island and visit a local café if you want to try hedhika, the Maldivian sweet and savoury snacks served with tea. The day also includes an introduction to the work of Manta Trust.Breakfast and dinner - 3
Mathiveri Island
Snorkeling and free afternoon
Head out by boat for another snorkel session on coral reefs rich with fish and other marine life. Turtles and sharks are often seen in the area, and manta rays may also appear, although sightings are never guaranteed. The afternoon is free. You may choose to visit Mathiveri Finolhu, an uninhabited island with a sandy beach and clear water. After dinner, your guide speaks about the pressures facing marine life and the importance of careful behaviour in the water.Breakfast and dinner
