This five-day Laos trip links Luang Prabang, the Pak Ou caves, Vang Vieng and Vientiane. It combines guided sightseeing with time on the road, a Mekong cruise, and visits to temples, markets and village stops. In Luang Prabang, the route includes Wat Visoun, Wat Aham, Wat Mai and the climb up Phousi Hill for sunset views over the town and river. The next day follows the Mekong upstream to Pak Ou Caves, with stops at Ban Xang Hai and Ban Phanom. The journey then continues by road to Vang Vieng, with river scenery, a boat trip on the Nam Song and a walk to nearby village areas.     Luang Prabang

    Arrival in Luang Prabang

    Arrive in Luang Prabang and transfer to your hotel. After a short rest, visit Wat Visoun, Wat Aham and Wat Mai, then climb Phousi Hill for sunset views over the town and the Mekong. End the day at the night market before overnighting in Luang Prabang.

    Pak Ou

    Luang Prabang and Pak Ou Caves

    Start with a guided visit to Wat Sene and Wat Xieng Thong. Then cruise upstream on the Mekong to the Pak Ou Caves, with a stop in Ban Xang Hai. Return to Luang Prabang and continue to Ban Phanom before another overnight stay.

    Vang Vieng

    Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng

    Visit the former Royal Palace Museum and the Central Market, then travel south by road to Vang Vieng. In the afternoon, take a boat trip on the Nam Song River and settle in for the night in town.
